THE CLIENT
Founded in 1949, Affinity Credit Union is a not-for-profit financial cooperative in Iowa that serves more than 15,000 members.

THE CHALLENGE
Affinity Credit Union noticed its members’ digital services usage wasn’t as high as it could be. The credit union wanted its members to be more active online, especially on the mobile app, and needed to find a way to draw attention to the app’s unique features.

THE SOLUTION
One of the greatest conveniences of the credit union’s mobile app is the ability to deposit checks from anywhere, so image.works highlighted that feature by sending Affinity’s members an attractive, eye-catching direct mail letter containing a live $5 check. To get the $5, members simply had to use Affinity’s mobile app to deposit the check (using remote deposit capture).

THE RESULTS
The number of members who signed up for the mobile app after receiving the $5 check campaign mailer far exceeded Affinity Credit Union’s expectations.
