BANK AND CREDIT UNION MARKETING

Cherokee Strip CU Branding Case Study

THE CLIENT
Founded in 1933, Cherokee Strip Credit Union is a financial cooperative with two branches located in Ponca City, Oklahoma.

THE CHALLENGE
The credit union had introduced a new core technology system, website and insurance agency in the same year. As part of these significant enhancements, they wanted to implement a consistent brand across their physical and virtual footprint. The goal was to offer members the same look and feel for all their products and services, regardless of the touchpoint.

THE SOLUTION
Given CSCU’s valuable history anchored in the area’s land rush and oil legacies, we wanted to help the credit union continue to show their pride in their local heritage – while modernizing the horse-drawn covered wagon imagery and colors in their existing branding.

THE RESULTS
We redesigned the CSCU logo with fresh colors and a contemporary new spin on the wagon wheel. The branding also included the creation of the credit union’s first standardized color palette and font library. All of the new standards were compiled in a professional brand guide to provide clear direction for consistent usage – the baseline goal of the project.

IN THEIR WORDS
“image.works is very responsive and easy to work with. Every individual we encounter on their team is collaborative and aligned. Their ideas are fresh, output is clean, messaging is engaging – and they don’t stop until we’re completely happy.

We value that they take the time to understand our core mission, listen well, keep within the boundaries of our overall brand goals and budget, and help us focus our energy on specific calls to action. As a result, image.works serves as the natural marketing extension of who we are. Their superior output rivals the best of big marketing firms.”
