In 1992, Elizabeth Mumford’s role at Dutch Point Credit Union shifted in a way that would shape the next 30-plus years of her career. At the time, she was the executive assistant to Dutch Point’s president and CEO, and when the marketing director left, she took on those responsibilities.
Today, Mumford is the vice president of marketing and public relations for Dutch Point and has partnered with image.works for the past six years. Our team assists with their loan generation and deposit growth campaigns, including IP targeting and prescreen projects.
We talked with Mumford about working in finance and her relationship with image.works.
What do you enjoy most about working in the industry?
The financial services industry is always evolving with the technologies of today. The evolution seems to be going faster and faster, and it's challenging and motivating to keep pace with everything that the job requires. No two days are the same and as a marketing person, the job is just plain fun!
What valuable nugget of marketing know-how would you impart to your younger self?
Don’t be afraid to ask questions, don’t be afraid to fail, and don’t be afraid to NOT take no for an answer – unless it is the only answer. Investigate and challenge things to get the most out of what you are doing or considering doing.
What brought you to image.works?
The [Idea Book] catalogs that were sent to me.
How has your financial institution benefited from image.works’ products and services?
Greatly. We got off to a slow start, but last year and this year things have really picked up, and having a great account representative helps. image.works feels like an extension of my department, not just a company I work with.
What do you appreciate about working with image.works?
My account representative. She has made a world of difference in all our projects. From start to finish she makes sure everything keeps moving, and the success we are achieving is over the top!
